DESAUTELS faculty of Management...

Academics:-

Academic mission for the MBA is simple: we strive to instill in all students an awareness of the changing realities of the global economy and a strong sense of personal responsibility. Employing a unique blend of case studies, exercises, discussions, group work, participatory role-playing and lectures, the MBA's balanced teaching approach delivers high-end theory in a practical, results-oriented manner.

MBA provides students with a strong grounding in business fundamentals coupled with the intangible skills sought by today's employers. The MBA program specifically stresses collaboration and teamwork among its students.

Curriculum:-

The refreshed MBA curriculum focuses on maximizing student preparation for future careers through a streamlined, modular Core and an updated selection of concentrations. Emphasizing the significant research and teaching strengths of Desautel's international faculty while responding to current business imperatives, the curriculum offers an integrated multi-disciplinary, problem-solving approach grounded in practice. Advanced management concepts are integrated with case studies and examples to ground theory in the real world.

At the same time, an integral part of our approach is a rigorous focus on personal responsibility - Desautels students know that one person can make a difference, and one excellent leader can change the world. We train future leaders.

Within our basic academic framework, students find diverse opportunities to explore management subjects of personal interest and apply their learning to real life business situations. They are given the opportunity to develop their unique profiles as the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.

Reinvent your self and the way you think about business. Our MBA program brings together world leaders in teaching, research and practice, providing an extraordinary, issue-based approach to learning.

Rather than promoting artificial competition, our student body learns, networks, and succeeds together. Students learn to make complex multidisciplinary decisions, to work in teams and take leadership roles, and to respond proactively to changing situations.

Student Life:-

We recognize the degree to which the academic experience is affected by the social experience. At McGill, we work hard to build a unique and complementary class each year. Your fellow classmates bring an incredible breadth of experience to share with the McGill MBA community. Once on campus, McGill MBA students participate in a wide range of academic, extracurricular and business-related activities that round out their academic experience and prepare them for challenging careers.

At McGill, we emphasize creative cooperation and team-building to prepare real leaders capable of effectuating change. Creating a collaborative community is of utmost importance to all of us responsible for creating and facilitating the MBA Program. By the time you graduate, you will know everyone in your class. You will work closely with most of them in courses, study groups, team projects, social organizations, and side-by-side at events. Sharing the MBA experience as classmates, friends, and neighbours really strengthens the McGill community. And this affiliation with alumni and business organizations that support the Faculty continues well after graduation.
